Preparation – the prefix says it all, this is a stage where individuals take the leap of faith towards change, and this is driven by the pure intent of living a healthy lifestyle
Precontemplation – now this is a dangerous step because few people realise, they have a problem so there are not any intentions to rectify risky behaviour e.g., excessive alcohol consumption, late coming and pathologically lying
Contemplation – when people refer to rocking the boot, they are referring to the contemplation stage. Now the intentions to make a change are in existence due to the realisation of a problem at hand it
Action – the honeymoon phase, except that this one is a health honeymoon phase, and it must be eternal. This is a stage that occurs right after the change has been initiated and people would like this change to have a longer threshold.
Maintenance – this speaks more to the threshold now that you are living healthier it makes sense that you would want to keep that health ball rolling for as long as possible
Termination – now we eliminate all the thoughts and desires about the previous ways of life that were not beneficial for your health
